Is this normal with guy that care about a girl?

i've been dating this guy for a month and a half and last weekend we had . I went to his place and it happened. He lives in the 5th floor of an apartment, and I parked in front of his building (in front of the building door), he was wearing PJ's and I had to go to my house so he walked me to the elevator but didn't walked me to my car, I asked if he was going to walk me there and he said he was wearing PJ's and I said it was ok...I think a proper guy would have walked the girl to their car. Am I wrong here?
