Is this what happened the last two times someone as liberal as Obama ran for President?

No. Obama is becoming less and less 'Liberal' every day. He apparently has the good sense to appear 'moderate' so as to attract independent voters. I don't like the fact that he is moving closer to the Right, but I guess that is his strategy for not losing in a landslide.
