Can somebody help me please?

I am going home (Venezuela) for Christmas and it has been a nightmare for me to find out how expensive the flight tickets are. I have been doing a lot of research and turns out that if I made the effort to spend one entire day flying through four different airports on top of spending one night in a caribbean island, I could save about thirteen hundred dollars. However, there is another issue I have to overcome which is hotel rates. One of my challenges includes staying in Curacao one night in order to make the final connection to Venezuela, early the next morning. Unfortunately, I have never been to Curacao before and I do not know of any inexpensive hotel in the area. I have been searching for info on the internet in the last couple of weeks but I'm afraid the type of accommodations that I am looking for are not available on the web. I am thinking about a guest house or something like that very simple just to spend the night. I was wondering if by any chance somebody has lived there and knows the area, or has friends there, or whatever. Anyways, I thought that maybe through this community I could find some good suggestions. I will really appreciate your help on this, because I have been unemployed for about a year now and my finances are in terrible shape. However, for me family is the most important thing and I would do any sacrifice in order to spend Christmas with them. Thank you very much for your time and ideas!
