Is President Obama a centrist or a socialist? Jon Meacham(politically right of center) wrote in the latest?

issue of Newsweek Magazine that his policies on health care were no more extreme than Nixon's, and that his bailouts were nothing new(which they are not), and pointed out his pro military stance of adding 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan. His problem is that he has led more with his head than with his heart. He has not inspired the American public. Sometimes image and perception outweigh reality. Liberals think he has betrayed them and conservatives view him as the second coming of Lenin.
